Upon completion of the Republic Olympiad around 12 top absolute winners partake in a two-week Spring camp. As a rule, gold and first silver medalists (sometimes second silver holders, if gap is insignificant) from 9-11 grades are invited to partake, while 10-11 grade students are given priority. National team for the IBO is formed during the spring camp, where qualifying tests are held systematically, upon which final rating is compiled considering the results from Republic Olympiad. The top 4 students get into the Team Kazakhstan at the IBO. Upon selection in May that year, the national team is assembled at the training base of scientific institutes to prepare them for a practical round of the International Olympiad.
