Selection of national team from Kazakhstan

Upon completion of the Republic Olympiad, selection takes place to the training camp for the Balkan Mathematical Olympiad (BMO). The selection process is based on results of the Asia-Pacific Mathematical Olympiad (ATMO), the International Silk Road Olympiad (IOSP), and the Republic Olympiad. Results of the Republic Olympiad are taken into account with 0.6, 0.8 and 1.0 coefficients for 9th, 10th and 11th grades, respectively. However, sometimes 9th graders are not considered at all for participation in international Olympiads. Moreover, on top of the mentioned Olympiads, results of the International Zhautykov Olympiad are sometimes taken into account.

After BMO, a training camp is held for the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO), where, in general, the same participants from the BMO training camp are invited. Some adjustments can yet be made to replace those whose BMO results were poor with the students who did not take part in the BMO training camp.

For the IMO, students are usually selected based on the test results from the IMO training camp. At times, test results from the BMO training camp are also taken into consideration.
